The Project

Canada's Only Confederation Lighthouse

East Point Lighthouse holds a unique distinction — it was built in 1867 and is the only lighthouse from that year still standing and operating today, earning it the title of Canada's Confederation Lighthouse. Located at the easternmost tip of Prince Edward Island, where the mighty tides of the St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait meet, it attracts thousands of visitors each season.

Brousseau Design built a full WordPress website to match the landmark's heritage and significance. The site tells the story of the lighthouse's 150+ year history, profiles its five keepers, integrates live Google Reviews and an Instagram feed, and makes it easy for visitors to plan their trip to 404 Lighthouse Road, East Point, PEI.

We were surprised by the picturesque scenery. Museum, gift shop, and lighthouse are well maintained with variety of souvenirs, history info, relics about the lighthouse. The lighting actually works! Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Kenneth Davis

This is one of the prettier lighthouses on P.E.I. The setting makes this a picture-perfect photo op. There are chairs available on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Don't forget to visit the gift shop — excellent selection of items made by local artists.

Dan Davies

We loved this site! Interesting historically and geographically, a beautiful view and a neat shop. The shop had more than the typical tourist wares, with some neat unique items. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
